This month’s spotlight is shining on Beau Strong, our Business Development Officer here at SDC. Beau has 30 years of experience in working with small businesses and financing. He began his career in finance in the Montgomery area, and 26 years ago he joined the SDC team at the Montgomery office. He later moved with the company to our Birmingham location and the rest is history.
Beau graduated from Huntingdon College with a Bachelor of Arts in Finance prior to beginning his career in finance. He is married to his wife of 25 years, Carole, and they have one son, Will, who is 21 years old. Carole and Beau share the same interest in the finance world, as Carole is a Senior Vice President at Servis1st Bank. Beau says, “Carole is incredible. She keeps me centered in life.”
Their son, Will, is a graduate of Homewood High School and attended South Alabama before moving back home and pursuing a career in construction. Beau and Carole also have two dogs, Tess who’s a German Shepard, and Duck who’s a Pit Bull. Beau enjoys being outside and hiking. He also enjoys spending time with friends and family and listening to live music. He says his favorite food is seafood, and one of his and Carole’s favorite spots to get oysters and gumbo is the Fish Market.
Beau says his favorite part of his job with SDC is helping people. “I get to meeting interesting people and hopefully help them realize their goals and dreams. We could see a drawing of a building become a reality.” He said it is very rewarding to help them make the dream happen.
Beau is one of SDC’s employees that has been with the company for a long time. He has been through many different waves of change, new hires, and everything else that comes along with it. He has been able to watch SDC grow into the company it is today. We are thankful he has stayed with us for so long, and we look forward to the years to come. Thank you, Beau, for all that you do for SDC, and helping us continue to grow and move in the right direction.
