Yolanda Merriweather
PRESIDENT & EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Yolanda has over 20 years of experience working in the lending industry with both conventional and SBA financing options such as 7A and 504 with SDC as well as other banks in Alabama. She rejoined the SDC team in November of 2021 after working with Choice Hotels International as their dedicated loan consultant and their Executive team's liaison. She is serving as the President and the Executive Director handling the day-to-day operations and the SBA oversight requirements for the CDC.

Beau Strong
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
Beau is a Business Development Officer with over 30 years' experience at SDC. Prior to joining SDC, he had 7 years in banking and commercial lending experience with several banks in the Montgomery, AL area. Beau is a graduate of Huntingdon College with a B.A. in Finance. Given his background and experience, Beau is an expert at structuring your project’s financing requirement.

Sarah Litton Chambliss
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER & MARKETING MANAGER
Sarah is responsible for business development within the state of Alabama, the Florida Panhandle, and the Gulf of Mississippi. She has been with SDC for 3 1/2 years and has a total of 6 years of experience within the finance industry. She received her B.S. and MBA from Auburn University at Montgomery (AUM). Along with Business Development, she also oversees our Marketing and Social Media Efforts.

Shannon Judge
PORTFOLIO MANAGER
Shannon Judge has been with Southern Development Council, Inc. for 12 years. She is currently the Loan Servicing Manager. She’s a motivated, dedicated business professional with a strong background in banking (Commercial and Small Business Administration 504 loan program). She has been in the banking industry for 25 years in various roles. She attended Alabama Christian Academy in Montgomery, AL from kindergarten until she graduated in 1997.

Nettie Elmore
LOAN SERVICING SPECIALIST
Nettie joined SDC in January 2023 and is our Loan Servicing Specialist. She previously served on our Closing Team before growing on the Servicing side of things. Prior to joining our team, Nettie has 20+ years of experience in Residential Mortgage. While working in Residential Mortgage, she received the Excellence award for her hard work and dedication.

Tasha Canady
LOAN SUPPORT SPECIALIST
Tasha joined us at SDC in January 2023. She has over 25 years of banking experience working in areas such as Loan Operations, Processing and Closing, Internal Audit, Risk and Compliance and Due Diligence. She is from Birmingham, AL and attended Jacksonville State University. Tasha handles our 504 loan closings by assisting the BDO's with communicating with the borrowers, bankers, and closing attorneys once a loan has been approved by SBA.

Carmen Gunter
OFFICE ADMINISTRATOR
Carmen Gunter joined Southern Development Council, Inc. in March 2024 and is the newest addition to the team. She brings over 11 years of experience in human resources, accounting, and payroll services, helping to keep the organization’s administrative and financial operations running smoothly. Although she earned her degree in Social Work from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2017, she applies that education by providing dependable support and assisting with the daily needs of staff, customers, and banking partners.
